Reformer, Chair & Springboard / Equipment Pilates
What is it?
A small group class with a max of 3 where we add a new dimension to our core workouts using bigger equipment and machines.
Why should I do it?
If you love Pilates then this class is for you! The reformer has experienced a huge popularity boost in recent years and it’s easy to see why. It’s a large bed like machine with a platform that moves through pulleys and springs. It supports the body, unlike mat Pilates, which allows a greater range of exercises through a range of different planes of movement. The Wunda Chair requires total body control and posture whilst performing the exercises. It’s a fabulous piece of equipment to help with balance, core strength, glute and hip stability. The Springboard behaves like a tower that can be found on the reformer. The springs provide a different sort of resistance, and subsequent body control, to the straps on the reformer so another effective piece of equipment for balance, strength and core.
What to expect?
A 45 minute class where we split our time over the 3 pieces of equipment. Typically, it’s 15mins or so per station before we move on.
What do I wear?
Usual exercise wear plus grip socks to help prevent slipping.
When can I do it?
Monday 11.45am, Tuesday 10.45am. Plus privates available.
